THIERRY HENRY claims life is tough as a lone
ranger for Arsenal. |
| |
| |
|
Frenchman Henry admitted: “When you play
one up front it is not an easy game. I have to put in my mind sometimes that
is the kind of game I’m going to have to play. |
| |
|
Henry, 29, plugged away on his own up
front as Arsene Wenger’s troops humiliated Liverpool 3-0 at the Emirates on
Sunday with goals from Mathieu Flamini, Kolo Toure and William Gallas. |

one up front it is not an easy game. I have to put in my mind sometimes that
is the kind of game I’m going to have to play |
| |
|
“I have to do it. That’s what I have to
do to make the team win and be important. |
| |
|
“I was maybe less in the box and on the
end of movement but quite often I was at the beginning of it, defending a
lot. |
| |
|
“But I know when you play 4-5-1 it is
not always down to you what happened |
| |
|
“You have to do a bit more for the
team.” |
| |
|
He added: “This game was important to
make a point against a good team. |
| |
|
“But beating Liverpool wasn’t to make a
point to everybody or send a signal to everybody. |
| |
|
“It was, first of all, for us. It was
important from a team point of view. |
| |
|
“And the commitment was more than 100
per cent. You saw everybody defending. It was pretty weird. |
| |
|
“Everybody was defending and we got a
defender on the score sheet. That’s a team for you. |
| |
|
“Liverpool played well but the
commitment was on our side. The desire was there.” |
| |
|
Flamini, 22, was happy to play in
midfield. |
| |
|
The Frenchman said: “I played left-back
last year but I wanted to go back into the middle to show everybody it was
possible for me to play there. |
